March 2026
Australian-owned and operated off-road adventure trailer company Bruder X is embarking on its next great adventure, relaunching as Bruder RV.
The innovative new Australian company will boost the nation’s manufacturing sector while setting a new standard of quality, service and innovation across the caravan and RV industry.
Bruder RV launched in March 2026 following the strategic acquisition of Bruder X by the Australian-owned Destination Unknown Group, under the leadership of CEO Gabby Montagnese.
A respected operator in the Australian caravan and RV industry, Montagnese led New Age Caravans from 2009 to 2019, growing it to become the second-largest caravan manufacturer in Australia with an annual turnover of $100M.
She is a renowned philanthropist, overseeing The Frank Montagnese Foundation, which she founded in memory of her late father, and chairing Tour de Cure Australia’s prestigious annual Treasures of Melbourne Gala.
The Foundation invests in preventive programs and initiatives for healthy relationships and provides funding for a multitude of programs, including lung cancer research, mental health, kids’ programs, homelessness and sports programs.
She has been closely connected to the Bruder X business and brand for many years, impressed by its authenticity, research and development, engineering standards and world-leading product innovation.
Her decision to step forward and guide Bruder RV through this transition reflects a commitment not only to the products but to the people and partners who support the brand.“My immediate priority for Bruder RV is to bring stability, clarity and strong leadership to the business while building a more sustainable foundation for the future,” Montagnese said.
“I see this as an opportunity to drive positive change across the Australian caravan and RV industry, setting new benchmarks in customer service, onshore manufacturing capability, innovation, technology and quality.
“At a time when Australia is increasingly importing manufactured products – including caravans and RVs – the emergence of a revitalised Australian manufacturer exporting high-end, Australian-designed and Australian-built vehicles globally sends a powerful message.” Dan Bosschieter co-founded Bruder X in 2015 with his brother, Toby.
Over the years, Bruder X became renowned for pushing boundaries in off-road trailer design, building a reputation for bold engineering, distinctive design and ambitious innovation.
“The Bruder brand has always stood for strength, innovation and a spirit of adventure within the off-road caravan world,” Bosschieter said. “But, more than that, Bruder is German for brother, reflecting the idea of something strong, reliable and able to endure the toughest conditions, which is very much like the vehicles that
carried the name.
“Toby, Gabby and I have a shared vision for improving the Australian caravan and RV sector; We are driven, determined and passionate about this industry and the customers who have trusted us to take this journey with them.”
Bruder RV has contacted all Bruder X customers with current orders and will prioritise their completion while continuing to innovate and grow.
In a true reflection of the brand’s adventurous spirit, the company is already exploring new markets and opportunities and has signalled its plans to create new jobs as it expands both domestically and internationally.
While competing globally, Bruder RV remains committed to designing, developing and building high-quality products in Australia from its manufacturing facilities in Wacol, Queensland and Epping, Victoria.
The transition to Bruder RV cements a new operating structure designed to stabilise the business and build a sustainable future steeped in purpose.
“My goal in leading Bruder RV is to honour the heritage of the Bruder brand, to respect the customers and partners who have supported it, and to build a stronger, responsible Australian RV company for the future,” Montagnese said.
“Delivering genuine social impact and making a positive change in the world guides how I lead. I look forward to discovering new ways to engage both the Foundation and Bruder RV to add meaning, connection and joy to people in our communities.”
